The idea of ​​being able to bring to the virtual world a series of elements that we have in our real world opens the door to new ventures, innovative ideas and even more intense interactions between users of the digital universe. But then, would you know how to answer what the metaverse is? This is a word known to many of us, but not yet fully understood. So, in this special episode of O Que Bahia Quer Saber, the program talks about the possibilities of the metaverse and the challenges that are imposed in the face of such a different technological movement. To help address the topic, the podcast welcomes Álvaro Vinícius Coelho, professor in the area of ​​Computer Science at the State University of Santa Cruz, here in Bahia, as well as Jai Souza, game developer and CEO of MOOVInova Tecnologia e Inovação. Experts explain the main applications of the metaverse and its concept, in addition to projecting how far this scenario can advance. Who also participates in the program is Thamires Figueiredo, 23 years old, who was the first undergraduate student in higher education to present her Completion of Course Work in the metaverse. Graduated in law and working in the technology market, Thamires shared her experience of presenting a project within the metaverse, where this innovative idea came from and how this choice was important to dialogue with the theme of her TCC. The episode also discusses the importance of students and professionals in the field of technology becoming increasingly involved with relevant and current topics, such as the metaverse, to collaborate in the development of new professionals and projects within this area in the state of Bahia and in the Northeast region. .
